Tender Description

Tenders are invited for the Bulk Earthworks, Roads, and Utilities package (Main Civil Package) at the Honeyfarm Road Sports Precinct. This is the main civil construction package for the project and provides the underlying infrastructure for future stages of work.

The project has undergone Master Planning and Community Consultation and has been endorsed by the Sunshine Coast Council for construction. Due to the low-lying and wet nature of the site, extensive flood modeling has been conducted in conjunction with civil and landscape design to ensure optimal performance is achieved within the constraints of the site.

The council now seeks to appoint the services of a civil contractor to undertake the construction works. This is a lump sum construction contract, with the civil package consisting of the following activities:

  • Bulk Earthworks including, wetland and waterbody construction, sports field subgrade construction, and building pad construction;
  • Stormwater and drainage;
  • Hydraulic reticulation and piping including potable water connection and approvals, irrigation feeds, and rising main lines;
  • Electrical reticulation, distribution boards, and conduits including connection and approvals;
  • Site power connection, and transformer installation;
  • Civil structures;
  • Roads and Carparks;
  • Footpaths;
  • Soccer Precinct Field Lighting;
  • Line marking and signage;
  • Topsoil and turf.
It is Council’s expectation that this contract will be awarded in December 2023 with Contractor mobilization in early 2024 with an anticipated functional completion by December 2024.

The successful contractor will be required to provide all materials, plant, and labour and to perform all necessary operations of whatever kind, to ensure the complete and proper completion of the works associated with this contract. Works completed to date have been subject to difficulties in construction due to poor ground conditions and perched water tables. All costs associated with working in these conditions are the responsibility of the contractor and should be considered in their submission.
In order for Respondents to fully inform themselves of the site conditions and location, an information session will be held on-site on 14 September 2023 at 10:00 am.
 
Site Visit

A site visit will be held at the Intersection of Honeyfarm Road and Sattler Rd, Meridan Plains on 14 Sep 2023 10:00 AM. Respondents must register attendance via email to tenderenquiries@sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au, PPE to be worn. Enter site from Intersection Honey Farm and Sattler Rds and meet at the main culverts, the western edge of the Sports Precinct.
