The Council of the City of Sydney ("the City") invites Expressions of Interest to undertake the construction of the Hyde Park Lighting, Electrical, CCTV upgrade and associated works in accordance with this request.

Hyde Park (Park) is Australia's oldest designated public park; it is a culturally significant heritage landscape and is central to many of the City's cultural events. Ausgrid transferred the lighting / electrical infrastructure and control system assets to the City in 2015.

The objective of the project is to replace failing lighting and power infrastructure within the park, addressing park safety and power needs for events. The project works comprise an extensive upgrade of all the lighting and power including necessary landscape make good works of paths, planting and turf impacted by construction. The project scope also includes the installation of 8 new CCTV cameras to boost existing CCTV camera coverage within the park.

The Principal Contractor will be responsible for the construction of the Hyde Park Lighting, Electrical, CCTV upgrade and associated works project as described in the drawings included in this request for Expression of Interest (EOI)

The work is expected to be completed by early 2026 to improve the park's night-time safety.

The City is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced Construction team to undertake construction within Hyde Park which is heritage listed and highly visited and deliver the project within or before the stipulated timeframe.
