Urban Utilities’ primary role is to deliver drinking water, recycled water and wastewater services to the cities and townships of Brisbane, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset in South-East Queensland (SEQ). However, as the world’s population continues to grow, so does resource consumption which cannot be sustained by the traditional linear model of ‘take, make, and dispose’. In comparison, a circular economy is a production and consumption model that aims to extend the lifecycle of materials for as long as possible.

As a market leading water utility, a key strategic objective for Urban Utilities is to drive circular economy innovation and improvement initiatives, adding value for customers in the delivery of services and products, support the growth of South-East Queensland as well as future security.

The purpose of this EOI is to gauge interest in the market and capability of suitably qualified and experienced suppliers to partner with Urban Utilities to achieve the 2030 organic processing and circular economy goals.
