Buy and Sell Description:

Summit Forests New Zealand Limited is seeking a suitably qualified contractor with a successful history of innovation and an excellent environmental and health & safety record to undertake harvesting work in Whangapoua Forest on the Coromandel Peninsula.

The Forest is in one continuous block located on the doorstep of Whitianga and Coromandel Town, covering an area of approx. 10,000 ha and a net stock area of approx. 7,000 ha of second rotation Radiata Pine.

The initial contract is expected to start in mid to late January 2024, with a term of 3 years to harvest approx. 180,000 tons. There is the opportunity for the contract to be extended based on performance and the establishment of a positive and collective working relationship.

The preferred configuration is one crew using a tower hauler system with the capacity to be fully mechanized.

This is a two-stage tender process. Summit Forests will notify companies by end of day Friday 13th October 2023 who will be asked to proceed to full tender submission. Only those companies will then be given a Request for Proposal (RFP) package, the opportunity to visit the Forest and to present their proposals.
