Yarra Valley Water is seeking to enter into a contractual agreement with a Cathodic Protection Services Consultant willing to work cooperatively with Yarra Valley Water and commit to the key objectives of our business to deliver to our customers’ quality, cost efficient and environmentally responsible water, sewage, trade waste and recycled water services.

The Cathodic Protection program’s main purpose is to minimise corrosion of water storage tanks and metal pipelines. By protecting these assets against corrosion, YVW can extend the life of our assets to prevent against early failure and subsequent replacement of the asset. This in turn results in less water supply failures for customers and minimises capital expenditure through the early replacement of failed assets.

The objectives of this contract are to ensure that:

1. YVW meets all legislative requirements relating to Cathodic Protection
2. YVW’s metallic assets are sufficiently protected from corrosion to increase their operational life.
3. Supervise works of YVW's cathodic protection services contractor.

The consultant will represent YVW at all meetings of the technical subcommittee (TSC) of Energy Safe Victoria (ESV), and participate in all scheduled ESV Area tests involving YVW Assets
