After the extreme flood events of early 2023, Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) is seeking aerial LIDAR surveys of the affected areas to better understand the changes to the landscape, evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation schemes, aid in the recovery work, contribute to future mitigation initiatives, and update the national elevation dataset.

We are seeking multiple suppliers to deliver the large LIDAR surveys in this RFT, and the data collected could complement, but not replace, site-specific surveys. The data collection is required in the regions: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Horizons.

We require suppliers that can mobilise for the 2023/2024 flying season.

LINZ is managing this RFT process as part of its role as the NZ government lead agency for LIDAR surveys in support of the national recovery effort in responding to the North Island weather events of early 2023.
