Screen productions from around Australia and the world are encouraged to apply for the CBR Screen Attraction Fund (CBRSAF).

This new fund is a pilot scheme with $450,000 of funding available, providing support of up to 10% of a production’s expenditure in the ACT if they qualify.

Applications for the CBRSAF must meet specific criteria, including a minimum of $2 millions of Qualifying Australian Capital Territory Expenditure (QACTE), and the production must budget for and engage local crew and/or cast.

Formats eligible for funding include the following for release in cinema, on television, streaming services or online platforms:

• Fiction or Factual content including adult or children’s drama, narrative comedy or documentary. It can be a feature, TV series/miniseries or web series (live-action and/or animation)
• Reality content or Quiz show

This includes all aspects for development, production and postproduction.

The program is an initiative of ACT Government that offers grants to attract screen projects that bring significant economic activity to the ACT. CBRSAF is administered by Screen Canberra.

Applications must be approved by Screen Canberra prior to the commencement of production.
