About the program

You can get advice to make your event sustainable and climate friendly. Access free equipment such as signage, water units and bin tops.

For your event, we’ll help you:

• reduce waste and increase recycling
• reduce energy and water use
• reduce greenhouse gas emissions
• educate and raise awareness of sustainability issues with your event visitors.

Sign up to the program to improve your event’s environmental commitment and reputation.

How it works

Register your event by filling in the Memorandum of Understanding.

• After we receive this, we’ll give you:
• our Sustainable Event Guide
• advice on efficient waste management
• resources such as signage, water units and bin covers (see our Equipment Catalogue [PDF 2MB]).

You’ll need to keep statistics from your event to show volumes of waste and recycling. It’s easy and we can show you how!

Who can take part

Public events of any size held in the ACT can be part of the program. This includes school fetes, community fairs, major music festivals, sporting events and more.

Cost

It’s free to be part of the program.

Why it’s important

Recycling at events is another way to lower our greenhouse gas emissions from rubbish going to landfill. People who attend events expect to be able to recycle like they do at home.
