Tender Details
Tender Description
Kerman Contracting Pty Ltd (herein referred to as the “CONTRACTOR”) has reached an agreement with Albemarle Lithium Pty Ltd (herein referred to as the “PRINCIPAL”)
Albemarle Lithium Pty Ltd operates a lithium hydroxide plant, and associated infrastructure, within Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area (KSIA), approximately 17 kilometers north-east of Bunbury, western Australia. The Kemerton Plant (KP) is designed to process up to 1.7 million tons per annum of spodumene ore concentrate, sourced from the Talison Greenbushes Operations. The Kemerton facility is approved for up to five processing trains and the associated reagent plant, utilities, and infrastructure.
The Kemerton Expansion Project is Phase 2 of the development of the Kemerton facility. The Kemerton Expansion Project involves adding two additional processing trains (trains 3 and 4) and expanding the reagent and utility infrastructure where necessary, to essentially double the existing plant's production capacity.
The process trains operate using a combination of pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical operations to produce a total of up to 100,000 tons of battery grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate (LIOH.H20) (“‘LHM") product and up to 200,000 tons of sodium sulphate anhydrous (SSA)) as by-product per year.
Albemarle aims to meet the rising global demand for lithium hydroxide monohydrate whilst delivering a project on time that is capital intensity efficient.
