Overview
The Australian Government’s Industry Growth Centres Initiative is a strategic, sector-based approach to growing our industry and creating jobs.
The initiative aims to:
- increase collaboration and commercialisation
- improve international opportunities and market access.
- enhance management and workforce skills.
- identify opportunities for regulatory reform.
There are 6 growth centres for the 6 sectors of competitive strength and strategic priority:
- advanced manufacturing
- cyber security
- food and agribusiness
- medical technologies and pharmaceuticals
- mining equipment, technology and services
- oil, gas and energy resources
Each Industry Growth Centre is an industry-led, not-for-profit organisation, providing a strategic vision for its sector. The vision is outlined in its Sector Competitiveness Plan, Industry Knowledge Priorities and linkages to other programs and funding.
