The Department of Government Services Employee Assistance Program Provider Tender:

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is an employment benefit to all employees across the Victoria Public Service. It is an important element of a health, safety and wellbeing program, particularly relating to optimizing the mental health and wellbeing of employees.

The newly formed Department of Government Services (DGS) does not have a dedicated EAP service in place for its employees. It is currently relying on Memorandum of Understanding arrangements that are in place with the Department of Treasury and Finance, the Department of Premier and Cabinet, the Department of Justice and Community Safety, and the Department of Jobs, Skills Industry and Regions where employees can utilize the EAP from their legacy department.

DGS is therefore seeking to procure a suitable and high-quality EAP service for employees within the Department of Government Services for an initial two-year contract with the potential of a single year extension.

Currently DGS consists of approximately 1800 employees, with this number expected to increase (possibly by an additional 600 employees) during the life of this engagement as the department’s business structure is finalized. The selected provider will be expected to have the ability and capacity to manage an increase to services over this period.
