Griffith University is undertaking an information and data assets discovery project to help inform what types of data are stored across a range of application sources and to detect data patterns. This discovery activity will be primarily related to digital records however Griffith University still maintains a physical data footprint which will also need to be included in the scope of this project.

Specifically, there is a need to identify all personally identifiable information (PII), sensitive and confidential information, which will include structured, unstructured and semi-structured data. This project is part of a broader program of work to uplift and increase the maturity level of the university regarding information and privacy management.
