The Victorian Planning Authority

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) is Victoria’s specialist agency for urban growth planning.

The VPA’s main task is to ensure Melbourne and Victoria’s regions remain great places to live. This requires vision and long-term planning, to ensure Victorians have equitable access to employment, public transport, community infrastructure, attractive public spaces, and affordable housing.

Key to this is coordinating the planning for high-amenity residential growth in key activity centres outlined in Victoria’s Housing Statement: The Decade Ahead 2024-2034 (the Housing Statement).

The Opportunity

The project is the Activity Centre Program. The key objectives are:

• Plan for 60,000 new homes around 10 key activity centres across Metropolitan Melbourne.
• The Activity Centres are: Broadmeadows, Camberwell Junction, Chadstone, Epping, Frankston, Moorabbin, Niddrie (Keilor Road), North Essendon, Preston (High Street) and Ringwood.
• The planning for these activity centres will also guide the investment of community infrastructure.

The purpose of this EOI is to seek expertise and capability to produce a community infrastructure needs assessment to support this project.
