Request for Proposal: Community Knowledge & Sentiment Survey - Long-spined Sea Urchin
Tender ID: 542620
Tender Details
Tender Description
NRM South is seeking to engage a suitably experienced contractor to work with us to design and deliver surveys that measure baseline community knowledge and sentiment in rocky reef ecology and the range expansion of Long-spine Sea Urchins, provide insight for the development of community education resources, and quantify the change in knowledge following engagement and education activities.
Our project seeks to build community understanding and support for the commercial harvest of long-spine sea urchin in Tasmania, and equip Tasmanians with knowledge about marine ecology, range extending species, and climate adaptation. It will achieve this by measuring baseline community knowledge and building engagement activities in response.
A key component of this project is to apply a survey approach to assess existing knowledge within the community prior to the delivery of engagement activities. This baseline data will enable us to measure the effectiveness of education materials and engagement activities.
As such, NRM South is seeking to engage a suitably qualified contractor to provide advice and co-design surveys, coordinate surveys and collection of data, and summarize data.
It is anticipated that this work will include:
- Development of survey approach in consultation with NRM South.
- Distribution of surveys to measure baseline community knowledge and sentiment prior to engagement activities.
- Collation of survey data.
- Provide a report describing trends and insights in baseline data, as well as providing raw data.
- Provide advice regarding the development and distribution of follow-up surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of engagement activities in improving community knowledge against baseline data.
These surveys will be aimed at the general public, the commercial fishing industry, and the Tasmanian Aboriginal Community.
