Council releases expression of interest process to entice childcare service provider

The District Council of Mount Remarkable is seeking expressions of interest from relevant parties in establishing a childcare service in Wilmington, South Australia. As a dedicated advocate for early childhood education and a commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children, Council is enthusiastic about the opportunity to contribute to the well-being and development of the children in our community.

Council in conjunction with the Wilmington Progress Association has developed an expression of interest process to entice an operator to the old Wilmington kindergarten site, to support the growing needs of our community.

“We are proud to partner with our key community stakeholders including the Wilmington Progress Association and the incredible and passionate Wilmington Childcare Working Group, to try and bring about a service which is clearly lacking” said Mayor Stephen McCarthy.

Council has released an expression of interest document which will close on Wednesday 6 December 2023, and can be obtained from the Council website: https://www.mtr.sa.gov.au/

“Whilst we are not sure what this process will deliver, one thing we do know is that Council is keen to enable and support our community in areas of need. We know there is an issue, and we will do what we can to get alongside the community and look empower solutions” said Mayor McCarthy.

Upon the completion of the expression of interest process, Council will provide a summary report outlining the responses received and proposed next steps.
