The Head to Health Assessment and Referral Phone Service aims to improve local service integration, address fragmentation, and offer a seamless care pathway for consumers to receive the right level of care at the right time to meet their mental health needs. The service provides a single-entry point into and between all community mental health services, including Head to Health centres, headspace and other community-based mental health services, including those provided by jurisdictions, Non-government Organizations (NGOs) or private providers.
In 2023, the Australian Government announced additional funding to continue the operation of the Head to Health Assessment and Referral Phone Service through to 2025-26.
Country SA PHN invites proposals from suitably qualified and experienced service providers to establish and operate the Head to Health Assessment and Referral Phone Service with potential for continuation dependent on future funding.
Proposals are welcome from all organizations that have the capacity, capability, and a significant track record and experience to deliver the services whether private not-for-profit, private for profit or public independent or joint (consortium, partnership, or joint venture) proposals from any such organizations.
Applicants will need to demonstrate either a significant track record of local knowledge and experience (local service footprint) or how they would establish local knowledge to support effective delivery of the service within a short period of time.
The successful applicants will be working towards commencing a level of service by 1 July 2024.
A briefing to prospective suppliers to provide the opportunity to ask questions and clarify information about the RFT will be conducted, 10.00am (ACDT), Wednesday, 8 November 2023.
