Tender Description
BHP is currently progressing detailed design and construction of a Heavy Vehicle Workshop at its Carrapateena Operation to service the heavy vehicle fleet utilised in the underground mine.
The Project consists of:
1. Design and Construct the following:
a. Heavy Vehicle Workshop for 8 x heavy vehicles
b. Warehouse
c. Heavy Vehicle Truck/Tub Wash Bay
d. Heavy Vehicle Fuel Bay
2. Project Management, quality control, related administrative services throughout the overall project scope.
3. Supply all labour, supervision, equipment, services and materials, other than free issue materials, and include all necessary expenses for all Construction, Temporary Works, Installation, Construction Verification, and Acceptance Testing (where required) of the works, all in accordance with the specification's, drawings and other documents as provided by BHP.
The design of the workshop is currently in a conceptual stage, detailing the functional and spatial requirements for the facility which will inform the tender process. The Contractor will work with BHP to finalise the detailed design, with works expected to commence in early 2024.
The works will be a joint effort between the Contractor and BHP's project management team. A detailed list of responsibilities will be provided within the tender pack. The tender documentation will be issued in November 2023.
The purpose of this EOI is to:
1. Advise the market of the Project and likely scope of works.
2. Determine the level of interest in the market from suitably qualified and experienced contractors.
3. Identify availability from the market for the works.
4. Shortlist Contractors for tender purposes.
