King Island Council is seeking Commonwealth funding for the supply and installation of pre-fabricated worker accommodation on King Island, Tasmania.

With a resident population of just over 1,600 and near full employment, staffing new developments on King Island requires bringing new workers to the Island. A lack of residential accommodation on the Island makes this task increasingly difficult. To solve this problem, a grant is being sought under the Growing Regions Program to fund the provision of 32 worker accommodation beds in pre-fabricated accommodation.

This notice is being issued to raise awareness of the opportunity within industry, with full tender documents to be released on Wednesday 29 November. Submissions are due by 2pm on Wednesday 20 December 2023.

The award of a contract arising from this tender will be subject to the successful award of a grant to Council. A decision is anticipated in early 2024.
