Thomas the Tank Engine & Car Trailer
Tender ID: 545789
Tender Details
Tender Description
The Thomas the Tank Engine we all know and love, may have done his final run. He has been a beloved member of our Temora Shire festival circuit since many of us can remember.
Once an APEX asset, Council took possession of Thomas when the Temora APEX Club demised. However, each year the cost of the engine and trailer increases. The current cost is estimated at $3k/year, and Thomas currently does not attract any income to cover the cost.
Council’s Asset and Operations Committee reviewed the asset, because of the ongoing costs, and because the likelihood was that Thomas would require a significant revamp in the near future. Thomas’ larger than life appearance hides an aging ‘historic car model’ Datsun 180b.
Council agree with the Committee on their recommendation to issue Expression of Interest to keep this adored little Engine going.
