The Kimberley Ports Authority (KPA) is responsible for the Ports of Derby, Yampi Sound and Wyndham and directly manages the Port of Broome (Port).

The KPA has recently completed several improvements and modifications to the wharf at the Port to assist with the safe and efficient export of mineral sands. The work included the demolition of an existing wharf storage shed and repairs and strengthening to the wharf deck under the demolished shed.

The KPA is now proposing to undertake extensions to the wharf to provide a new laydown area and a location for new offices and amenities on the Broome wharf. The work will include the supply and installation of new steel piles, beams and headstocks, along with reinforced concrete decking.

KPA is seeking proposals from suitably qualified and experienced Contractors to undertake the works as detailed in the Request for Proposal document.

Site Visit 

A site visit will be held at 280 Port Drive, Broome on 17 January 2024 10:00 AM.

The Principal will hold a mandatory general information and pre-proposal “briefing session” for Respondents at Broome at a location to be confirmed on the 17 & 18 of January 2024. The likely agenda is as follows:

10:00 – 12:00 – Briefing by Project Manager Mr Peter Collins

12:00 – 13:00 – Lunch (provided by the Principal)

13:00 – 16:00 – Above Deck Wharf tour

18 January 2024

08:00 – 14:00 – Staggered under Wharf tours.

Attendance at the briefing is a pre-requisite to submission and consideration of a bid.
