George Street and Harris Street Stormwater Drainage Improvements
Tender ID: 547717
Tender Details
Tender Description
In 2019, the City of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters (‘Council’) endorsed a Stormwater Drainage Program which is designed to upgrade, where feasible and practical, the city’s stormwater network to meet the service level standards for all catchments within the city. The Stormwater Drainage Program is to be delivered over a fifteen-year period.
The George and Harris Street Stormwater Drainage Project will be delivered as part of the Council’s endorsed Stormwater Drainage Program. The objective of the George Street and Harris Street Stormwater Drainage Project is to intercept previously surcharging drains and discharge stormwater north down George Street, into Harris Street then connecting into the Second Creek culvert where the culvert is approximately two (2) metres deeper than the previous connection points. This provides in-pipe storage and additional driving head to discharge stormwater flows into the Second Creek culvert.
The George and Harris Street Stormwater Drainage Project will be undertaken within a constrained environment that carries significant traffic, pedestrian, and cyclist movements, and has many businesses that rely on these streets for access which also includes passing and destination trade. The construction of the project must therefore not only be undertaken in a manner and an approach that is conscious of these aspects.
During the construction, George Street will continue to function as a place for business and trade, and operate as place for people to pass through, visit or shop. In undertaking their Works, the Contractor must ensure they conduct themselves in a way that is conducive to good behaviors and ensure George and Harris Streets and the respective construction zones are kept tidy and clean, and well organized at all times.
