PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA (PathWest) provides pathology services to metropolitan and regional public sector hospitals, major tertiary teaching hospitals and private medical and pathology practices, throughout Western Australia. In doing so, PathWest needs to ensure the safety of its staff.

PathWest staff may encounter situations where they become threatened by those community members who are accessing its services. These situations require a mechanism to ensure staff safety and access to immediate assistance should they be at risk of harm or encounter an emergency.

Personal duress devices, with security monitoring, provide a mechanism for immediate assistance, which may include medical, fire or police.

PathWest is seeking the provision of personal duress devices, including monitoring, escalation for emergency support, and user training.
