Tender Description
The project will be delivered by the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) on behalf of the Department of Health (DH). Aurecon will be supporting VHBA in the delivery of this project as an external consultant.
The scope for Main Works encompasses the construction of a new two storey Emergency Department and an External Plant enclosure. A large portion of the site infrastructure upgrades, underground services works and demolition scope to enable the Main Works construction to be undertaken is being completed in a separate 'Early Works' package. The Main Works Package comprises the construction of a new two storey Emergency Department which includes some interface scope to an existing building linkway as well as final services connections and coordination.
As part of the design, the new Emergency Department will encompass various specialised zones, including resuscitation beds, short stay beds, emergency care cubicles and a behavioural assessment room.
In addition to the construction of the new ED building, an external plant compound is to be constructed with the inclusion of a new substation. Construction of new Ambulance parking bays and access road form part of the works, as well as the completion of all landscaping and external finishing works to the remainder of the works site.
As part of the Main Works package, the services work for the new Emergency Department (ED) development encompasses several key components. This includes the establishment of energy nodes and communications nodes for early handover, as well as the provision of electrical services, which include communication, audio-visual, and security systems. Additionally, mechanical, fire protection, and hydraulic services will be provided to support the construction of the new ED building. The Main Works Request for Tender (RFT) will incorporate a Tender Option. The determination of whether this option will proceed will be made in consultation with the successful tenderer.
