Tender Description

Melbourne’s Most Spell Binding Venue.

Incorporating the site of Melbourne’s oldest prison, the historic Magistrates Court and the former City Watch House, the OMG Precinct is steeped in history. The precinct has been the centre of crime and law in Melbourne since the 1840s, with infamous identities including Ned Kelly and Squizzy Taylor spending time behind the Gaol walls. The Gaol was closed in 1924, opening briefly during the Second World War as a military prison before becoming a storage depot for the Victorian Police Force. The Magistrates Court and City Watch House operated until 1994 and between them saw almost all of Melbourne’s infamous twentieth century criminals.

Managed by the National Trust of Australia Victoria (NTAV) since 1972, the Old Melbourne Gaol (OMG) has transformed into an award-winning tourist attraction, offering distinctive spaces for catered functions and events for up to 250 guests.

Perfectly Paired are working closely with our venue partners NTAV to seek Expressions of Interest for a 3+2 year term to oversee function catering at this iconic location.

Caterer's Walk-Through will be held on Thursday, 8th February at 9:30 am.
