This training package is a result of a collaboration between North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN) and Emerging Minds, the lead agency for the National Workforce Centre for Child Mental Health. Following a successful first round in 2022–23, a second round of training is available for 10 practice teams to complete by 30 June 2024.

This activity is a key part of a suite of interventions to improve capability for people working closely with children in general practice throughout the NWMPHN region. Early intervention is critical for managing mental health issues; almost half of diagnosed adults will first present with clinical signs of anxiety, depression or conduct disorder before they reach adolescence.

Incentive payments of up to $6000 (ex. GST) per practice and CPD hours are available for practices that complete the package
