The Cobar War Memorial Committee have secured funding to install a new War Monument in Drummond Park in Cobar to remember those that left Cobar to fight for our freedom during WWI and WWII. In support of this project, Cobar Shire Council has committed to arranging the installation of the supporting infrastructure for the Monument inclusive of the footings to support the new Monument and two new flagpoles along with the surrounding footpaths.

Council is seeking quotations from suitably experienced contractors for the construction of the supporting infrastructure for the new Monument.

This includes:

- Demolition and removal of existing brick paves pathways and concrete edging, garden beds, steel post and chain decorative fencing, raised brick speakers platform, existing flagpole and associated footing.

- Installation of new concrete footings to accommodate the new monument as described in the structural design drawings and specifications. Fixing of the monument to the new footings will be undertaken by the installer of the monument.

- Installation of new concrete footpath around the new monument and existing cenotaph and provisions for two new flagpoles as described in the structural design drawings and specifications.

- Cleanup restoration of the site. Council will reconfigure the irrigation system and landscaping around the new monument.

As part of the quotation process it is expected that the contractor will attend the site and clarify the scope of works on-site prior to submitting a quotation.
