OVERVIEW

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) is intending to release a Request for Tender (RFT) in April 2024 and is seeking Expressions of Interest concerning the Elevated Platforms contract for future Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix events (Event), to be held at Albert Park, Melbourne (Site) from 2025 onwards. The following document provides additional information regarding the contract requirements. The Elevated Platforms scope shall include all labour, materials, plant and equipment necessary to supply on hire, deliver to site, erection, maintenanceand removal of elevated platforms for the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix.

EVENT

The Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix event is held over a four day period, typically in March/April each year. Construction of infrastructure to facilitate the Event is carried out over an 8-12 week build period in accordance with a strict Construction Programme, with dismantle beginning immediately following the Event. Full dismantle is required within three weeks of the Event.

SCOPE OF WORKS

The works under the Contract include, but are not limited to:

 preliminaries, including provision of own Site facilities;

 preparation and implementation of contract HSE Plan and detailed construction schedules;

 review and acceptance of survey data provided by others, including location of underground services;

 erection of elevated platforms as per the contract requirements and as amended by the corporation for each Event;

 provision of stairs, handrails, TV posts and accessories as required and described in the drawings;

 necessary provision for overlayed floor systems to achieve 5 Kpa design loading and any point loads arising from third party installed shade structures or the structure’s intended purpose;

 continuously monitor and maintain installed works and rectification of defects as identified by the Superintendent;

 provision of all facilities, crane usage, hoisting, scaffolding, shoring, protective screens and hoardings and other temporary works as may be necessary;

 provision of all design certification, compliance certification and any other required statutory documentation;

 provision of a standby crew during the Event period for maintenance and rectification;

 provision of shop drawings and as built drawings required by the Specification or as otherwise necessary; and

 dismantle and continuous cleaning of the sites.
