Alexandra Bridge is a popular recreation area, managed by the Shire of Augusta Margaret River, set on the banks of the Blackwood River, 25km from Margaret River and Augusta. The site consists of a campground and day use area, and is a popular location for swimming, boating, fishing and canoeing. It has significant environmental and cultural values including an Environmentally Sensitive Area, Registered Aboriginal Sites and sites on the Augusta Margaret River Heritage inventory.

The Alexandra Bridge Campground Redevelopment and Management Plan prepared in 2016 identified the need for upgrading the foreshore at the site and providing new facilities for visitors to access the water. The first stage of the implementation of this plan is construct a set of river access stairs and adjoining viewing platform.
