As part of the Ballarat Base Hospital Redevelopment (BBHR), the Medical Services Building and Services Building at the Ballarat Base Hospital will be demolished at the end of 2024 to allow the construction of the new main tower.

This demolition will result in the elimination of DDA compliant access and fire egress to level two of the Cafeteria Building, along with the removal of an IT training room and toilets serving that area. To ensure operational continuity and building compliance, the following adjustments are necessary to be made to the library and surgical admin office in mid-2024:

1. A new IT training room will be constructed within the library and the library entry adjusted.

2. A new connection between the Cafeteria Building and Gardiner Pittard Building will be created.

3. The surgical administration office area will be modified and refurbished.

 The tender package will cover all the work relevant to the above adjustment.
