The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) is an independent agency of the NSW Government, charged with regulating essential markets and government services to ensure effective social, environmental and economic outcomes. IPART’s functions include statutory and commissioned roles a cross a range of sectors including energy, water, transport and local government.
We regularly conduct investigations and make reports with respect to pricing, industry structure or competition. In September 2023, IPART was provided a Terms of Reference by the NSW Government to continue to set benchmark ranges for solar feed-in tariffs in NSW for financial years 2024-25, 2025-26 and 2026- 27. 1 This is a role IPART has had since 2011.
