Tender Description
Katalis is seeking a firm to examine and understand the level of two-way direct investment between Indonesia and Australia compared to the level of investment from other countries. The firm will be required to identify challenges faced in Indonesia and Australia by investors (including women-led firms), relative to other markets, and opportunities that might exist for future investment, including under the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA).
There are two parts to the services required:
Part 1) overview of the landscape of Indonesian and Australian investment, and
Part 2) using a survey of actual and potential investors, identify barriers to investment and opportunities and solutions to increase two-way investment.
Specific services required include:
Part 1:
• A high-level overview of Indonesian and Australian-origin investment to global markets (stocks and flows), with more details on ASEAN markets and peer countries.
• A high-level landscape mapping of Indonesian- and Australia-origin investors (to understand their characteristics and motivation).
• Mapping of international investment in projects in Indonesia and Australia, including a comparison of projects without two-way investment (to help identify factors driving investment decisions).
Part 2:
• A perception survey of between 70-90 Australian and Indonesian actual and potential investors to explore each country as a direct investment destination for the other country, relative to peer countries.
• Analysis of survey results and recommendations (including with respect to investment policy) to be prioritised to increase two-way investment.
A Gender, Disability and Social Inclusion (GESI) lens will be applied across all aspects of the research, analysis and reporting.
