The Australian Critical Minerals Prospectus (CMP) is Austrade’s flagship annual critical minerals publication. It provides an overview of the Australian critical minerals landscape for potential investors, offtakers, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
The Prospectus is primarily used as a marketing tool to promote investment-ready Australian projects that produce one or more of the minerals listed on the Australian Government’s Critical Minerals List. These opportunities are featured in one-page ‘Investment Summaries’, which form the bulk of the publication. In the latest edition, there were 52 projects featured.
Austrade has been publishing the Prospectus in PDF and hard copy for the last five years. However, feedback from our clients, international network, and end-users is that the document quickly becomes out of date, which diminishes its effectiveness as a marketing tool.
For this reason, we are seeking to re-develop the Prospectus into an easily updatable and simple online tool. Our vision is to embed a Power BI data visualisation on our website, featuring each investment-ready project on an interactive map of Australia.
Objective
To develop an online, user-friendly, and easily updateable version of the Australian Critical Minerals Prospectus. The tool should maintain its marketing orientation and feature an interactive map allowing users to filter projects by geography, mineral, and project status.
