Tender Details
Tender Description
The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is updating its interactive sports exhibit Sportex which is located in the AIS Visitor Centre and attracts more than 100,000 visitors of all ages and abilities each year. The ASC is seeking to engage one or more contractors to provide design, supply and installation services to facilitate the project outcomes.
Sportex aims to inspire visitors to be involved in sport by enjoying fun and safe interactive displays while learning about the history of Australian sport. The interactive exhibits should ignite a passion for sport, foster a sense of belonging within local sporting communities, and ultimately contribute to the broader health and well-being of all Australians.
Tenderers can respond to any or all of the options presented below. They can also respond to solutions for individual exhibits or respond with a comprehensive package encompassing all exhibits. This flexibility underscores the ASC’s commitment to accommodating diverse perspectives and approaches in achieving our shared objectives.
Services will include:
Option 1: Refurbishment of existing exhibits:
- Tenderers can propose the revitalization of one or multiple current interactive exhibits. This option invites creative approaches to enhance the functionality and performance of the existing installations while meeting the specified criteria.
Option 2: Like-for-like replacement:
- Tenderers can submit proposals to replace one or multiple current exhibits with equivalent, modern and interactive sports exhibits. These replacements should adhere to the same rigorous standards as their predecessors, offering an improved and more reliable user experience.
Option 3: ASC alternative exhibits
- This option allows tenderers to propose entirely new interactive sports exhibits that adhere to the ASC standards for mechanical and software reliability, user-friendliness, entertainment value and engagement value. Tenderers should ensure that these alternative exhibits align with the ASC’s mission of promoting physical activity and engagement among visitors. When responding to this option, the tenderer should make clear potential locations for the exhibits and include dimensions of exhibits (including adjacent space required for optimal utilization of the exhibit).
The key project objectives are:
a. provide a high-quality product for visitors to easily engage with that inspires and encourages users to participate in sports;
b. provide the best value for money for the ASC;
c. delivery of services on time and budget;
d. economical whole-of-life cost;
e. achievement of functional requirements of the ASC and other relevant stakeholders;
f. compliance with codes and authority requirements.
The project is seeking to commence design documentation in May 2024 with a targeted construction completion date of June 2024.
