The specifications outlined below detail the Contractor's responsibility to provide a service for the collection and recycling of cardboard and co-mingled items at all three of the Council's Waste Transfer Stations. Any proposals offering to provide this service at only selected stations will not be considered.

Current pick-up details are provided below but can be adjusted, in consultation with Litchfield Council, to accommodate established routes. Alternative pick-up schedules should be outlined in your response to this tender.

Howard Springs Waste Transfer Station:

8 x 1100 litre co-mingle bins picked up once a week.

10 x 3m3 cardboard bins picked up on Mondays and Fridays

Humpty Doo Waste Transfer Station:

20 x 1100 litre co-mingle bins picked up once a week.

16 x 3m3 cardboard bins picked up on Mondays and Fridays

Berry Springs Waste Transfer Station:

6 x 1100 litre co-mingle bins picked up once a week.

6 x 3m3 cardboard bins picked up on Mondays and Fridays

Alternative container sizes will be considered, but it is crucial that the bins are covered and easily accessible for residents to dispose of their materials.

The successful bidder must provide bins at all locations. Company drivers will be responsible for collecting any waste that falls from the bins during the pickup process.

Recyclable materials, including cardboard and co-mingled items, must be recycled; disposal at landfills is not acceptable. The collection price should include the cost of processing these recyclable materials.

The winning tenderer is required to provide delivery dockets each time cardboard and co-mingled recycling materials are collected. These dockets should record both the cubic meters of supplied bins and the weight of the materials in the bins. Invoices detailing the quantities lifted must be submitted monthly.
