Under the strategic pillar of research translation, the PSRAC LC is requesting quotes from interested agencies to undertake a study, to gather, analyse and present workforce information that informs the interpersonal reasons people choose an aged care career, what they enjoy and as well as barriers and frustrations. Previous work from the February 2011 “Positive Aspects Aged Care Nursing” report will be refreshed under this project to provide qualitative data to deliver a publication for 2024-2025.

The overall aim is to better understand the current public sector residential aged care workforce profile, motivations and challenges experienced by the workforce to best support current and future planning, professional development planning and target recruitment and retention efforts.
