We are reaching out to invite suppliers to submit an expression of interest (EOI) for the Ethnic Communities Violence Prevention Research Projects.
The Ethnic Communities Violence Prevention (ECVP) programme, introduced by the Ministry of Social Development (MSD), aims to address family violence and sexual violence (FV/SV) within ethnic communities. This initiative aligns with Te Aorerekura, with a specific focus on Action 23: Developing prevention programmes for ethnic communities.
The ECVP initiative places emphasis on research to understand the extent, drivers, and contributors of FV/SV, identify gaps, and inform effective and culturally responsive FV/SV prevention and response policy and frameworks.
There are two main research objectives:
1. To investigate the experiences of FV/SV within South Asian communities, including underlying structural inequities and societal inequalities.
2. To examine the social, political, and economic costs and benefits of various prevention and response frameworks from a public policy perspective, particularly within ethnically diverse communities. This research will develop evidence-based guiding principles and a blueprint aimed at addressing the multifaceted needs of ethnically diverse communities in Aotearoa New Zealand.
