ORC is in the early stages of a work programme aiming to develop a natural hazards adaptation strategy for the Clutha Delta area, including the townships of Balclutha and Kaitangata. As part of that program, this procurement relates to an investigation of the liquefaction hazard of the Clutha Delta.

The first phase of the investigation will involve: collection of geotechnical data, geotechnical analysis, reporting, interpretation, discussion and presentation of findings.

There is a possible second phase involving a qualitative risk assessment for seismic hazards. The two phases need to be priced separately.
