Supplier Registration for Tender - Dedicated High Throughput 3D Electron Diffractometer
Tender ID: 556132
Tender Details
Tender Description
The University will soon release a tender for - Dedicated high throughput 3D electron diffractometer (3DED) (WS1936611997).
The University is looking to purchase a dedicated high-throughput 3D electron diffractometer (3DED) system for research use at the University of Sydney. It will be the first such dedicated instrument in Australia, as distinct from existing cryo-transmission electron microscopes (cryo-TEMs) fitted with 3DED-capable detectors. It will be installed in the X-ray Node of the Sydney Analytical Core Research Facility. The 3DED system will be capable of rapidly determining the atomic structures of molecules and materials from the smallest possible crystals, orders of magnitude below what can be studied using traditional X-ray (including synchrotron X-ray) diffraction instruments. It will be used to train students as well as to support many researchers, research initiatives and industry partners.
Some mandatory requirements of this tender are:
1. Participant must have an existing installed base of 3DED systems in research-focused laboratories in academic or industrial settings.
2. Participant must have existing trained support engineers and service department able to support the system which will be located in Sydney, Australia.
3. Some system requirements are:
a. Electron source of 160kV or better
b. Multi-axis goniometer for sample alignment
c. Integrated sample visualisation and data collection software capable of autonomously identifying and collecting data from multiple crystals on a grid
d. Sample cryo-transfer and cooling
e. Data resolution of at least 0.84 Angstrom
PROJECT TIMING
The tender will be released during the 2nd week of May 2024 and be open for 3 weeks
