Tender Description

Southern Cross Station Pty Ltd (SCSPL) is the operational arm of Civic Nexus and manages the Southern Cross Station (SXS) facility under a management agreement with the Department of Transport.

SCSPL manages the precinct with the support of several contract key service providers including Honeywell Pty Ltd for asset management and maintenance.

 Southern Cross Station is sited as the key interface of the Melbourne CBD and Docklands in the fastest growing area of the city and is the busiest multi-modal transport hub in Victoria, with over 1,500 trains through the Train Interchange (TIF) and over 300 coach movements each weekday through the Bus Interchange (BIF).

 The station is designated as vital critical infrastructure under the Victorian Emergency Management Act. There is a strong focus on incident and emergency management and the facility features 24-hour security coverage.

 The management of such a diverse range of services in a dynamic environment requires a systematic and organised approach with a strong focus on communications with key stakeholders and on maintaining a culture of excellence and safety amongst key service providers.

 Active Asset Management is a term that describes the combination of our strategic planning and forward vision with the operational hands-on nature in which we manage the facility and provide key services including retail, asset management, maintenance, cleaning, security and emergency management.

 There is strong focus on maintaining a safe environment for our customers and employees. Underpinning our asset management performance are multiple certifications and accreditations including Quality Assurance, Rail Safety, OHS and Environmental Management.

 Southern Cross Station is proud of the approach we take to the active asset management of the facility and the services provided. Our focus is on the future and on long term opportunities and challenges and we are cognisant of the impact that world leading asset management has on commuting workers, visitors and tourists and on the communities in which the station precinct serves.

Since the Covid pandemic the station and the station’s customer profile has changed. The way people use transport, commute, work and shop has changed, and its management and board are now seeking a partner to lead and deliver a multi-faceted Security and luggage Service to help rebuild visitation momentum and shape its future
