Tender Details
Tender Description
It is a regulatory requirement for livestock exporters to have at least one LiveCorp Accredited Stockperson on all livestock export voyages from Australia, to care for the animals and fulfil the duties required by the Australian Standards for the Export of Livestock (ASEL).
A key component of gaining accreditation is the successful completion of LiveCorp’s shipboard stockperson training course.
This project seeks to understand industry and regulatory requirements of shipboard stockpersons, including prior knowledge and experience, and areas of competency following participation in the course.
A thorough review of the training course will ensure the materials and format are effective, engaging and fit for purpose.
This project is managed by the Livestock Export RD&E Program, a collaboration between LiveCorp and Meat & Livestock Australia.
Objectives
The purpose of this project is to:
- Review and update LiveCorp’s shipboard stockperson training course and finalise required updates to its Shipboard Stockperson Accreditation Program.
- Deliver capable stockpersons that meet industry and regulatory expectations and contribute to continuing improvements to animal welfare outcomes.
Benefits to industry
This review of the LiveCorp’s shipboard stockperson training course will ensure new stockpersons are capable of managing the health and welfare of livestock during an export voyage and complying with current ASEL reporting requirements.
