Scope of Work

Zoos Victoria seeks the services of a suitably qualified and experienced company (or companies) to fabricate and deliver a fleet of electric prime mover units to be used for outdoor touring at Werribee Open Range Zoo (WORZ) (Project). The Project is intended to replace six diesel engine buses and will involve three packages of works:

1 Design and development of chassis

Manufacture and delivery of a prototype electric chassis capable of driving and hauling a prime mover unit.

2 Fabrication of the prime mover unit body

Fabrication of a prototype prime mover unit body to be installed on the electric chassis, based on an existing design of a prime mover unit provided by Zoos Victoria (Electric Prime Mover Unit) and fabrication of three trailers per unit for towing.

Commissioning and testing the Electric Prime Mover Unit and trailers.

Subject to testing and approval of the prototype Electric Prime Mover Unit, the construction, fabrication, testing and commissioning of up to seven more Electric Prime Mover Units and trailers (three per unit).

Maintenance services of Electric Prime Mover Units.

3 Installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure

Delivery of associated infrastructure required to support the fleet of Electric Prime Mover Units, including charging infrastructure located at the existing bus servicing shelter. It is Zoos Victoria's intent to utilize the existing solar invertor system at the shelter as a source of power, requiring a battery and interconnection to existing mains power as a back up supply.
