The West Coast Regional Council will shortly issue tender documents for the management and operation of Ōkuru Quarry. It is focused on blasting, extraction, grading and stockpiling of Armour Grade Protection Rock [AGPR] which which will then be on-sold to the WCRC rating districts and on the open market with the intention of returning a profit to the WCRC to off-set the rate take.

Management activities will require suitably qualified personnel to ensure that the operations on-site are undertaken in a manner which is fully compliant with the Quarry Management Plans, Health and Safety Plan, resource consents, relevant legislation, plans and guidelines. Operations will need to represent industry best practice and deliver whole-of-life best value for Council.
