This project, part of the Country Football and Netball Grant, aims to upgrade the oval's playing surface, focusing on drainage and irrigation improvements. Enhancing these systems will improve the quality of the playing surface and reduce maintenance requirements. As identified in Active Victoria, this project will also increase participation among disadvantaged and under-represented groups, helping the club achieve its goal of remaining an active part of the Tatyoon and district community. Works for this contract must be completed between October 2024 and January 2025.

The oval currently features a 4-turf cricket pitch maintained by the community. Irrigation is provided by a small tank and the CFA tank during safe weather conditions. Although a new pump has been installed, its suitability for the upgraded system needs evaluation.

Over the past two decades, and especially in the last year, the condition of the Tatyoon oval has significantly improved thanks to volunteer efforts and community contributions. For detailed comparisons of the oval's conditions, refer to the Venue Rating Agency Report (April 2006) and the current assessment (October 2023).

The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labour, materials, equipment, freight, fees, and other expenses required to complete the upgrade.
