Tender Description
The Department of Treaty, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, Communities, and the Arts is seeking quotes for an investment in improving the cultural capability of the Gambling Help Services System (GHSS) to better meet the cultural needs of First Nations communities.
The scope of services includes three stages:
1. Complete a cultural audit of current GHSS direct-service providers to identify their current cultural capability. The audit will:
- Complete a desktop review of key documentation provided from GHSS organisations. This information is to include:
-Workforce Development Strategies
-Existing First Nations Strategies from providers
- Reconciliation Action Plan
Identify the ‘baseline’ state as it relates to cultural capability of staff, leaders and the organisations across each office, and GHSS provider.
This work is to be done through online and physical visits to each organisation and their offices across all GHSS catchment areas.
2. Provide a report, including a set of recommendations to DJAG which discusses findings across all GHSS locations:
- develop an organisational cultural capability action plan based on the outcomes and recommendations of the audit that identifies steps each GHSS provider can take to improve cultural capability within its service outlets and locations
- identify additional cultural audit findings for the GHSS to prioritise and implement
3. Develop culturally safe referral pathways process and resources for local First Nations communities and the GHSS.
- Work with the GHSS and key First Nations organisations to facilitate the development of the referral pathway process
- Work within each local community and with the physical offices of the GHSS to facilitate cross-cultural understanding and cultural competency/ safety.
