Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga (CEDWW) operates 24 primary and 5 secondary schools in the Catholic Diocese of Wagga Wagga. CEDWW is seeking expressions of interest for the provision of Wellbeing Counselling Services to its 24 Primary Schools for their following schools (students numbers as at February 2024 census).
Student counselling within schools is a professional, evidenced-based service available to students to assist them with increased learning engagement, improved health, social and emotional functioning. The service is intended to be a short term intervention. School counsellors can play an important role in: the early identification of mental health and learning concerns; assisting students to address identified difficulties; assessing risk; and facilitating external referrals where appropriate. A school counsellor must not be a primary therapist for a student with complex mental health issues.

Background information / Compatibility requirements
The Service Provider must be aware of and comply with the requirements of the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 and the Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013 and the Children (Education and Care Services) National Law (NSW) (collectively the CP Act) and any other ancillary legislation and the policies of the CEDWW on child protection.
The Service Provider must ensure that all persons who are engaged in child related work in relation to the service, as defined in the CP Act, which include subcontractors and volunteers, comply with the requirements of the CP Act. All persons will need to provide a current validated WWCC.
The Service Provider must provide an adequate number of employees to service the 24 Catholic Primary Schools within the Diocese of Wagga Wagga ("School Wellbeing Practitioners").
