Biodiversity Node Maintenance
Tender ID: 559228
Tender Details
Tender Description
We are looking to establish a one-year contract from 1st August 2024 to 30th June 2025 to maintain our biodiversity nodes within the Waimakariri and Ashley Rakahuri Regional Parks.
Biodiversity nodes are planted pockets of native vegetation amongst the mixed river protection trees and river berm vegetation. We maintain and enhance a planned array of biodiversity enhancement nodes along two of Canterbury’s riparian corridors. The maintenance of these nodes is the backbone of what we are doing. We require a supplier with good plant identification knowledge, especially weed and native plant identification skills, and proven experience in weed control work, that can maintain these sites to the outlined standards.
The maintenance will consist of controlling weeds to a 0.6m radius around each of the planted native plants within a node site according to Work Schedule, ensuring any native seedlings coming up within that radius are retained. The detailed work requirements are outlined in Attachment 1: Work Schedule and Specifications.
Respondents are encouraged to visit the sites and familiarise themselves with the biodiversity nodes listed, to better understand and price the work requirements for each, outlined in Attachment 2: Site Maps.
Respondents are asked to supply a price for this work as outlined on the Response Form provided. This is a large body of work with set delivery periods which forms the basis of a strong work program and a good reference of quality and performance for successful suppliers. There will be an option to extend the contract a year to 30th June 2026 and again a further year to 30th June 2027 by agreement between both parties, upon successful completion of each year.
