Lemonthyme Power Station Rotor Pole Refurbishment
Tender ID: 559730
Tender Details
Tender Description
Lemonthyme Power Station was commissioned in 1968-1969, while the generator is a Siemens design from 1966. The condition of the alternator rotor poles was reviewed in February 2024 which identified that the rotor poles are in poor condition. The inspection report is attached to this specification, and shows that the inter-turn insulation is migrating out from between the turns of the pole windings.
The objective of this scope of work is to extend the life of the rotor poles by reducing and/or eliminating the risk of inter-turn faults and loss of structural rigidity. The RFT includes full refurbishment of the rotor poles as well as two optional scopes of work (Option A and B).
