The Shire has three construction teams that operate typically between September to April. These teams deploy various methods of traffic management including temporary traffic lights, road closures, side tracks and working under traffic. The Shire has some capacity to undertake its own traffic management, however, this is supplemented with external contractors as required.

This contract allows for the provision of Traffic Management Services within the Shire. The service may include, as defined by the Main Roads of Western Australia (MRWA) Code of Practice:

• Preparation of complex and non-complex traffic management plans.
• Installation of signage and traffic control operations.
• Site inspections

The services to be provided include; supply, installation, maintenance and removal of traffic control devices, preparation of traffic management plans, and liaising with on-site leading hands to monitor and review effectiveness of traffic management plans.

Services will be required to allow Shire staff and/or sub-contractors to undertake work on weekdays between the hours 7 am to 4 pm. After hours works including weekend and night work may occur from time to time but this is not typical practice.
