Expressions of interest are sought from appropriately qualified and experienced persons for the position of Chair of the Latrobe and Kentish Audit Panels.
The aim of the Audit Panels is to act as advisory committees, making recommendations to each Council on matters that require strategic attention based on a rigorous assessment of the council’s performance. The successful candidate will ensure the Audit Panel of each Council achieves its objectives as set out in the respective Audit Panel Charter and complies with the requirements of Division 4 of the Local Government Act, 1993 (Tas).
The successful candidate will possess good business acumen and sound management and communication skills. Knowledge and experience in any of the areas of audit practices, financial management, risk management or governance processes would be considered an advantage. Each Audit Panel is expected to sit four times per year and remuneration for the initial two-year term of the position is $1,300 per sitting for each Council.
