WorkSafe requires the services of a suitably qualified provider (or providers), that has appropriately skilled and qualified personnel to provide bereavement support to families where the death of their loved one was connected to their work.

The provider/s will be required to:

• provide bereaved families with grief specific support that is tailored, trauma informed, evidence based and responsive to cultural needs
• provide emotional support such as incidental counselling and psychoeducation.
• provide practical assistance to help family members navigate government and non-government organisations that they may need to interact with following the loss of their loved one
• support the family in a manner that reduces re-traumatisation and minimises harm; and
• assist bereaved families to feel validated that the systems recognise their experience and hear their voice

The upcoming contract opportunity will be for a period commencing 1 January 2025, for an initial three-year period, followed by an option to extend for two years.
